Ask Post-purchase Questions
Tickit lets you collect additional information from purchasers. To do so you'll use the Questions feature.
In brief: you can set up re-usable questions and define the possible answers for each question. Then you chose which tickets will trigger those questions to be asked.
Setting up Questions
- Go to a ticket’s Q&A tab and select “create a new question”
- Enter your question in the field labeled “what would you like to ask?” (e.g. What is your meal preference?)
- Select whether an answer is required or optional
- Select whether the question should be asked once per order or once per ticket. For example, a question about meal preference would be make sense to ask for each individual ticket. Asking how someone heard about your event would only be once per order.
- Select what type of answer will be possible (a few words, a few sentences, multiple choice, single choice)
Setting up Answers
Questions that require a few words or sentences are often open-ended and don’t require setting up answers (e.g. What’s your favourite colour?).
When specific data is required, Questions can be set up with preset answers as options for the buyer to select.
When selecting “multiple choice answer” or “single choice answer” you will be prompted to enter the possible answers for the buyer to select. Enter your first possible answer and select “add answer” to add another.
In the meal preference example, a single choice answer would be fitting and possible answers might be Vegetarian, Chicken, or Fish.
Select Questions to be Asked
Once you’ve created a Question make sure that it’s selected to be asked on each relevant ticket. To do so, simply select “Asking” next to each question in a ticket’s Q&A tab.
When are questions asked?
Ticket purchasers are asked to provide answers after they complete the checkout process, immediately before they are issued their tickets.
Where do I find the answers to these questions?
Answers can be downloaded in CSV form from the related Event Report that's available on the main event page or from Event Summaries in Reports. They can also be found on individual order pages.
