Admit Attendees with Web Check-in
Web Check-in can be used as a searchable will call list. It's designed to be used from a laptop and can be accessed at checkin.tickit.ca.
Most events will want to use our iOS and Android apps instead of Web Check-in. The iOS and Android apps let you sell tickets as well as admit attendees.
This page is about Web Check-in, which is designed for laptops.
Searching and Admitting Attendees
Enter the name on the ticket in the search field that reads “Enter name or ticket #”. As you type, tickets will appear below. Find the appropriate match and click ‘admit’.
If you admit the wrong ticket by mistake click ‘reverse’.
Using a USB scanner with Web Check-in
(For barcodes to be scannable on both phones and printed tickets the scanners should be compatible with 1D and 2D barcodes)
- Plug in the scanner to the USB port in your computer
- Open Web Check-in from the Box Office page in your dashboard and load tickets for scanning
- Make sure your cursor is in the text field that reads “Enter name or ticket #”
- Click and gently hold the scanner button to engage the red beam
- Point the scanner’s red beam at the QR code
- Direct the red light toward the ticket QR code and watch the screen to see results.
- The ticket results will appear on screen
Troubleshooting
If the ticket number doesn’t register immediately:
- Make sure the cursor is in the search field
- Try moving the scanner closer or further away from the code (while still holding the button)
- Scanning a code on screen may be difficult if the screen’s brightness is set too low (ask ticket holders to increase their screen brightness while waiting to be checked in)
